Big delivery news landed this week: Bolt says its on-demand delivery service, Bolt Send, has completed more than six million deliveries in Nigeria so far in 2026. That is a lot of packages, documents and small-business orders moving across cities without the sender making the trip. 📦
So what does a story from Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Owerri mean for you in Uyo? Simple: sending and receiving things through an app is no longer a “big city thing.” It is an everyday habit — and you can use it today, right here.

What happened
According to The Nation (21 October 2026), and a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) report carried by several outlets, Bolt Send — the delivery service inside the Bolt ride-hailing app — passed six million deliveries in Nigeria between January and October 2026.
Caroline Wanjihia, Regional Director, Rides Operations for Bolt Africa, said in a statement that the milestone reflects growing use of app-based delivery by individuals and businesses for packages, documents and commercial goods. The reports also say the service grew 37 per cent year-on-year through week 42 of 2025, and that it is currently available in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Owerri.
In her words, “Six million deliveries is not just a number; it represents six million moments when someone needed something to move.”
Why Uyo readers should care
The interesting part of this story is not who did the six million. It is what people are sending: documents that must reach a client today, a package for a family member, an order from a small business to its customer. Those are exactly the things that happen in Uyo every single day too.
- The Etinan-road boutique that needs to get a dress to a customer in Ewet Housing before evening.
- The lawyer’s office on Wellington Bassey Way with signed papers going across town.
- The student near UNIUYO who forgot their laptop charger at a friend’s place in Nwaniba.
The national trend says one thing loud and clear: people would rather spend their time working, studying or resting than sitting in traffic to move a small item. Uyo is no different.
Your Uyo move today: book a local parcel
On iDeliver you can send a parcel across Uyo from the same app you use for food:
- Open the iDeliver user app (or message our WhatsApp AI).
- Enter the pickup and drop-off points — drop a clear pin and add a landmark.
- See the fare before you confirm. Fares are zone-aware, so you know the price up front.
- Track the rider live, and the handoff uses an OTP when required, so the item reaches the right person.
Same-city parcels are the quickest win: book before the afternoon rush and your item can move across town the same day.
Hungry while you’re at it? Order lunch too
Most of the deliveries in this kind of news are parcels — but in Uyo, lunch is the delivery that saves the most days. If it is past noon and you have not eaten, open the app, pick a restaurant from the Meals corner, and let a rider bring it to your office or hostel. One app covers the whole Core4: Meals, Groceries, Gadgets and Anything — plus local parcels.
Small habits that make every Uyo delivery faster
- Pin + landmark: “Blue gate after the pharmacy, Nwaniba Road” beats “I’m around.”
- Pick up the call: keep your phone close when the map shows the rider nearby.
- Have the OTP ready: it makes the handoff a ten-second job.
- Package well: documents in an envelope, fragile things wrapped, labels clear.
The bottom line
Six million deliveries in one country in ten months shows how normal app delivery has become in Nigeria. You do not need to wait for anybody to bring that habit to Uyo — it is already here. Open WhatsApp or the iDeliver app now and send that parcel or order that lunch today. 🛵
