Fresh delivery news from West Africa this week: in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, Yango Food has launched “Goya,” a premium restaurant-delivery service inside the Yango SuperApp — hand-picked restaurants, special packaging and trained couriers. It is happening far from Akwa Ibom, but the message inside it is very close to home: people want restaurant food that arrives looking and tasting the way the kitchen made it. And this Sunday in Uyo, you can order exactly that for your family today. 🍽️

What happened in Abidjan
According to RTI Info (Côte d’Ivoire’s public broadcaster), in a report published on 28 October 2026, Yango has extended its premium “Goya” brand — first used for its chauffeur rides — into food delivery. Key points from the report:
- Selected restaurants only: Goya works with a selective network of upmarket restaurants chosen for the quality of their cooking and their reputation, with more partners expected to join.
- Presentation matters: restaurants are shown with custom photography and chef portraits next to their menus.
- Packaging that protects the food: custom boxes meant to keep temperature and presentation, eco-friendly kraft bags, and tamper-evident seals so customers can see if an order was opened.
- Dedicated couriers: deliveries are handled by a dedicated fleet of Ivorian partner couriers trained for premium service and wearing distinctive outfits.
- Launch offer: RTI reports free delivery on all orders at launch and a 5,000 FCFA discount on the first order.
Yango Food’s managing director, Serge-Eric Gnamkey, put it simply: delivery is not just picking up a package and handing it over — the whole experience counts, from how a restaurant is shown in the app to how the order is handled on its way to the customer.
Why this matters to you in Uyo
Take away the premium branding and the lesson is universal: a good meal should arrive as a good meal. Hot food should still be hot. The soup should not be on the outside of the pack. And you should know your order reached you untouched.
Those are the same everyday basics Uyo customers care about when they order on iDeliver:
- See it before you confirm: the food cost and the delivery fee show up front, so nobody argues at the gate.
- Live tracking: watch your rider move on the map instead of calling every five minutes.
- OTP at handoff when required: a simple code that helps make sure your order goes to the right person.
- Ratings and in-app support: tell us how the meal and delivery went so the experience keeps getting better.
To be clear: iDeliver is not part of Yango’s service and we are not comparing ourselves with it. The point is the direction delivery is going everywhere — care for the food, not just speed — and you can enjoy that today here at home.
Your Sunday move: treat the family to restaurant lunch today
Sunday is the perfect day to put this into practice. Here is a plan you can finish before the family gets back from service:
- Open WhatsApp and message wa.me/2349134448523 with “hello,” or open the iDeliver app and tap Meals.
- Choose your “special” plate: grilled fish, peppered chicken, a jollof party pack, or a proper bowl of afang or edikang ikong with swallow.
- Add a note for the kitchen: “please pack the soup separately” or “sauce on the side” — small requests that help the food arrive right.
- Confirm your address — home off Nwaniba Road, the family house in Ewet Housing, or a hostel near UNIUYO — check the total and confirm.
- Track your rider live and share the OTP at handoff if one is required.
Pay by wallet, card, or cash on delivery where available. At eligible stores, iDeliver Prime members get free delivery.
Need to send something today too?
Sunday is also when many of us send food to parents, return a dish to an aunty, or drop a small parcel for a friend. With iDeliver’s Anything errands and local parcel delivery, a rider can move it across Uyo the same day — tracked, with handoff confirmation when required. And while you are in the app, the rest of the Core4 is there: Groceries for the week’s restock and Gadgets for that missing charger.
Good food deserves a good delivery
Premium or everyday, the idea is the same: the meal should reach you the way the kitchen meant it. Open WhatsApp or the iDeliver app now, order your Sunday family lunch, and enjoy restaurant food at home anywhere in Uyo today. 🧡
