Happy Sunday, Uyo — and happy new month! 🎉 November has arrived, the Sunday rice is somewhere in the future, and the family WhatsApp group is already active. Before lunch, here are some clean, warm Sunday delivery jokes to get you smiling. Share them with the person still tying their gele. 😄
1. “Final prayer”
Pastor: “Let us bow our heads for the final prayer.”
Forty minutes later, the whole church is still bowing, the rice at home is still uncooked, and three phones under the pews are quietly typing “hello” to the iDeliver WhatsApp bot. 🙏
2. The rider at the church gate
Rider calls: “Hello, I’m at the church gate.”
Three hundred people come out at the same time and every single one of them checks their phone like, “Is it me?”
3. The new-month budget
November 1st, 9 a.m.: “This month, I will cook at home every day.”
November 1st, 1 p.m.: “Okay but it’s Sunday. Sunday doesn’t count.”
4. Sunday best
Dad walks out of church in his finest agbada, stops at the gate and says, “Ah, I’m too fresh to go and stand in a buka queue today.”
That is how the family discovered Dad has the iDeliver app. 👔
5. The choir member’s order
Choir member, after singing for two hours: “Please, whatever is fastest. I have used all my energy for the Lord.”
6. The traffic report
Mum: “Let’s wait for the after-church traffic to clear before we go out to eat.”
Traffic clears at 4:30 p.m. The children have eaten all the biscuits in the house. Nobody is happy. Moral of the story: let the food do the travelling. 🚗
7. The Sunday nap clause
Every Nigerian Sunday has a hidden agreement: whoever orders lunch is exempt from washing plates. That is why your brother suddenly downloaded the app.
8. The food tracker
Grandma doesn’t trust technology.
Also Grandma, watching the rider icon move on the map: “Turn left, my son. Left! Ehen. He’s close now.” 👵
9. The visiting cousin
Cousin: “I just came to greet. I won’t stay long.”
Cousin, two hours later, refreshing the order tracker: “Is it the fish one or the chicken one that is coming?”
10. Monday is loading
Sunday 8 p.m.: everyone suddenly remembers they have a uniform to iron, a report to finish and no bread for tomorrow’s breakfast. Somebody quietly adds “bread and eggs” to a grocery order. Hero behaviour. 🍞
Have a sweet first Sunday of November
From all of us at iDeliver: thank you for laughing with us, ordering with us and trusting our riders on your streets — from Nwaniba Road to the UNIUYO hostels. Rest well, enjoy your family, and if nobody wants to cook today, your Sunday lunch is one WhatsApp message away. 🧡
