Running a logistics and lifestyle service like iDeliver in a city as dynamic as Uyo is no small feat. Behind every smooth delivery, fresh grocery, hot meal, or rented car, there’s a dedicated team working hard to overcome real-life challenges. In this blog post, we’re opening our doors to show you some of the key hurdles we face and most importantly, how we tackle them to serve you better.
1. Weather Conditions ⛈️
One of our biggest external challenges is the weather. Rainy days often slow down traffic, discourage outdoor movement, and make it difficult for riders to navigate certain areas.
How We Handle It:
We train our dispatch riders to operate safely during various weather conditions. We also have rain kits and protective gear in place for them, so they can keep moving safely. Our support team works extra hours during these times to communicate updates and resolve delays quickly.
2. Limited Rider Availability During Peak Hours 🚦
On high-demand days especially weekends, holidays, or during Vendor Wednesday promos there’s usually a spike in orders that can strain rider availability.
Our Solution:
We’ve built a network of over 30 active, trained riders ready to move across Uyo. We also employ real-time rider allocation, so you get matched with the nearest available rider as quickly as possible. We’re actively onboarding new riders every month to keep up with demand.
3. Customer Address Clarity and Communication 📍
Sometimes, incomplete or confusing delivery instructions delay orders and frustrate both customers and riders.
What We’re Doing:
We’ve simplified the order process on the iDeliver app to prompt users for more accurate pickup and delivery details. Riders also receive regular training on customer interaction, so they know how to confirm directions politely and efficiently.
4. Last-Minute Order Cancellations ❌
Occasionally, customers change their minds or cancel orders after a rider has already been dispatched.
Our Response:
We’re developing fairer cancellation policies to balance customer flexibility with rider protection. In the meantime, our support team helps reroute or recover affected orders quickly to minimize loss.
5. Tech Glitches or App Downtime 📱
Like any app, occasional bugs or network issues can interrupt service.
The Fix:
Our technical team monitors performance daily and works round the clock to deploy quick fixes. Users can also reach us directly on WhatsApp, via our website, or through our customer support line for urgent assistance.
