Happy Thursday, Uyo! 😄 Thursday is not quite the weekend, but it is close enough to smell it. The work is still there, the salary is still “loading,” and everybody is quietly hungrier than they were on Monday. So before the last push of the week, here are some clean, warm delivery jokes to share with your office, your hostel, or that group chat that has been too serious lately.
1. Thursday is Friday’s trailer
Thursday is basically the trailer for Friday. Nothing big happens, but everybody is excited and already ordering snacks for the main movie. 🍿
2. The phone that rings in silence
Customer orders lunch, then puts his phone on silent “to concentrate on work.” Rider calls four times. Customer finally checks the app, sees the rider at the gate, and says with full chest: “Ah, why didn’t you call me?” 📵
3. The almost-Friday budget meeting
Wallet: “Let’s manage till month end.”
Stomach: “We have managed since Monday. Today we are eating jollof.”
Wallet: “…Small chicken, not big chicken.”
Meeting adjourned. 🍗
4. The office lunch vote
Five colleagues. Four food options. Six opinions. And the one person who said “I can eat anything” has rejected all four. Democracy is beautiful, but lunch is at 1 p.m. 🗳️
5. “Look for the house with a generator”
A customer gives directions: “When you reach the street, look for the house with the generator sound.” Light had just gone off. The entire street was a generator orchestra. The rider says he has never heard a louder landmark in his life. 🔊
6. The 2% battery race
There is no sport in Nigeria more dramatic than trying to confirm your order before your phone dies at 2%. Olympic sprinters could never. 🔋🏃
7. The small rain
In Uyo, “it’s just small rain” is the same small rain that cancels your plan to go out, makes the road a river, and convinces the whole house that ordering food is the only reasonable decision. Science still doesn’t know how small rain does big things. 🌧️
8. The afang inspector
Every family has that aunty. Her afang arrives hot and well packed. She opens it, smells it, tastes it slowly… and then says, “Who cooked this? I need the person’s address. We have to talk.” Nobody knows if it is a complaint or a compliment. (It is a compliment.) 🥬
9. The false alarm
The gate bell rings. The child runs inside shouting, “Mummy, our food is here!” Everybody rushes out with excitement… it is the man who came to read the meter. Saddest walk back to the parlour in history. 😂
10. The rider’s secret talent
Our riders can tell from your voice on the phone exactly how hungry you are. “I’m coming” means you’re fine. “Please, how far?” means you’re hungry. Silence and heavy breathing means it’s amala o’clock and you have entered survival mode. 🏍️
Laugh, share, and keep it light
The best part of delivery stories is that every Uyo person has one — the gate that looks like every other gate, the landmark that disappeared, the rain that arrived exactly at lunchtime. Share your own funniest delivery moment with us on WhatsApp or our socials; we love hearing them. 🧡
And when you’re done laughing, no need to fight the small rain or the lunch vote — your Thursday lunch is one WhatsApp message away on iDeliver.
